e-Safety

Computers, internet and other forms of technology are part of our lives and it is important that pupils are aware of the risks. We have created e-safety leaflets for pupils and for parents and carers. Please click on the links below.

At William Read Primary Academy keeping our students safe is important to us.

We use eSafe monitoring to assist us with keeping our students safe online. eSafe (https://www.esafeglobal.com/) not only monitors words and phrases for risk markers in all languages but is the only digital monitoring service that can also detect evidence of safeguarding risks in static and moving images that aren't tagged with descriptive copy. This is particularly important in the current pandemic, as isolated imagery is often the only place where signs of the trending safeguarding risks (such as webcam grooming and child sexual exploitation) will be found.

We also have a dedicated link to CEOP (click on the CEOP logo at the bottom of each page of this website) and Parent Zone (a parent information hub developed in conjunction with CEOP and NCA) on our home page.

This link is updated regularly, which is important as the digital world rapidly evolves.
