Admissions Policy

In the event of oversubscription places will be allocated using the following criteria in the order given:

1. Looked After Children
2. Children with a sibling attending the school
3. Remaining applications

In the event of oversubscription within any of the above criteria, priority will be determined by straight line distance from home to school, those living closest being given the highest priority. Exceptional medical circumstances (supported by medical evidence) may override the above criteria (other than Looked After Children).

It is the responsibility of parents to make an application for their child’s primary school place. Therefore, it is not necessary to wait to receive an application form or letter in the post. You can access information and apply online or apply using a paper form.  

As of 1^st April, Mid-year admissions are processed directly by the school (not for Reception). Please download and complete the form below and return it to the school via our email office@williamread.essex.sch.uk
